This gastronomic variety is a result of the mix of the food tradition of the native people and the European influences of Spain, Portugal, France, and Great Britain. With more than 25 food vendors every year, Mississauga Latin Festival offers visitors the best traditional Latin American dishes, maize-based dishes such as arepas, pupusas or tamales and a variety of salsas and other condiments, guacamole, pico de gallo, chimichurri, and desserts like a churro filled with dulce de leche, or a tropical mango ice-cream.
